Following the national guidance of the Catholic Church in England and Wales, all public worship is suspended, and effective from 24 March, all churches are closed to the public.
St George’s Cathedral has been closed for public worship since the instruction given by the government on 24th March.
This has been extremely difficult for our parishioners and the clergy. But the priests of the cathedral have continued, and will continue, to celebrate Masses privately each day.
Masses may still be booked for specific intentions. We may be contacted to arrange Mass intentions by email or by telephone.

We were delighted when it was announced on 11th May, that the government aims to allow places of worship to re-open from 4th July, depending on the level of Covid-19 infection at that time. Once we have more details we will post them here on our website.
Archbishop John is live streaming Mass each Sunday morning at 10am which may be followed on the diocesan YouTube channel. Details of this and other streaming services and resources to help with worship at home may found the on the diocesan website: www.rcsouthwark.co.uk
